Research on bakery logos
I decided to look at the different types of bakery logos that were already out there. Here were a few a liked:

Identity
Ok so here are the details I have received from my client (Geraldine) on the identity she hopes to give her new business:
Here are some names I came up with for the bakery:
So the identity of the business is as follows:
- The new business that is being set up is a Bakery shop in Letterkenny town.
- The Bakery will sell a number of different baked goods, cupcakes being the main selling point. Also cakes, biscuits and pastries.
- The client would like her company to be somewhat different from the typical traditonal bakeries that already exist in Letterkenny, she wants a more funky and quirky look and feel to the shop.
- She wants this to be a modern looking business with a clean cut look, nothing too intricate or complicating.
Here are some names I came up with for the bakery:
- Roll 'n' Pin
- Cupcake Land
- Just Desserts
- Piece of Cake
- The Cakery
- Sweet Treats
- Perfect Pastries
- Oh La La
- Sweet Desires
- Good Bakes
- Pat a Cake
- The Sugar Shack
- GOD's Bakery (Geraldine O Donnell) Slogan could be: 'A Little Taste of Heaven'
- Sugar 'n' Cream
- Sweetie Pies
- Sprinkle Land
- The Cup-Cakery
- Tasty Bites
- Yummies
- Sweet Temptation
So the identity of the business is as follows:
A Bakery called Sweet Treats.
Pro Two: Identity
This is a one week project we were given. Basically we have to come up with a new business, create a name for the company, design their logo and state what they do. We also have to add their logo to clothing or stationery or whatever content suits the type of company it is. We have to show development and potential implementation of their brand. To show the funders how the identity may be visualised.
We were also told if we knew of anyone actually thinking of starting up a new business that we could work on their idea also. I decided to go with this option as my sister is thinking of opening up her own Bakery shop. I plan to find out what type of look she would be going for, traditional, quirky or something new and undone. Do some research on other bakery identities and start by creating some logo's for her to look at. Then when she has chosen one she likes, I will try out different colours and finally add the logo to some aprons, cupcake cases, hats etc. All things associated with the Bakery.

My Completed Animation
After asking a few different people to watch my animation and read aloud the sentences of the poem, I was able to correct the timing. Everyone's reading capabilites differ so it was hard to choose a speed that would suit everyone but I think I found a happy medium anyway. I couldn't slow it down completely as it would take away from the flowing animation. Hopefully all will be able to read and see the animation unfold in my completed video.

My Presenation
This was a storyboard I sketched out to help me plan my presentation:
Here is a link to my Prezi presentation. This was to explain what the project was about, what poem I chose and why and to explain how I made my animation.

Here is my completed animation to date. I made it using my iPhone, I took the images in the Stop Motion App, then took them into the Slice App to crop bits and add transitions. I took it into Adobe Affter Effects then and added the colour correction effect to change the auto levels. Then I used the Free Sound website to get some piano background music. I added this in on After Effects too.
After showing this in class I was told that the timing wasn't quite right and I agree in some scenes it is hard to read the sentences of the poem. So now I am going to go back over it and make some scenes last longer than others and make sure the timing is just right!
Examples from my animation
Here are some video clips from my animation.
This is the opening scene, I wrote in the title and then added a little tree sprouting out of the last letter.

This is the second scene where the seed is falling down with the leaves. This was a difficult scene to do as I had to make sure the leaves fell gently and flowed rather than falling like lead balloons, it was also quite tricky to move the 5 objects for each snapshot as I kept forgetting which ones I had moved already and which ones I hadn't! Then the sentence of the poem was taking in which made 6 moving objects.
Here is the winter scene I done, I cut a little slot in the paper so I cud push the seed down further into it to give the effect that the snow was getting deeper around it.
Examples of my scenes
This is what I used to make my animation, two shampoo bottles with a ruler across the top. I placed my phone on the ruler and had paper below to draw on or to move around the cutouts, I also had a bright light right above the page to prevent in unwanted shadows. For some stupid reason blogger won't allow me to put the image in portrait!
Here are the drawn scenes from my animation, I drew the seed and then cut it out as I knew I would be using it in numerous scenes so that is why some of these look strange as there is no seed in them. I would then just place the seed into the space provided. Ok blogger is really annoying me now, alot of my images are coming in upside down, sorry about this but maybe just turn the computer upside down to see them!
